Mr. Baharam Ghasemi was responding to Turkey’s deviationist positions on Syria crisis after the trilateral meeting in Moscow earlier in December, where the country’s Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu sat with Zarif of Iran and Lavrov of Russia to bring considerable amount of change to Syrian crisis. Ghasemi believed such positions and reassessment of the trilateral accord provisions would only complicate already tense situation in Syria where delicate ceasefire had been frequently violated by opposition fighters; “the Islamic Republic of Iran will remain committed to its policies in line with trilateral meeting and expect Turkey follow the suit in avoidance of any deviationist position which would deteriorate the situation in Syria,” he emphasized.
“Turkey should act as a guarantor of the fact that the ceasefire will not be violated; Turkey should address the groups affiliated to it which violate the ceasefire, to contribute to the nascent positive changes into the Syrian ground,” Ghasemi suggested.
